This course based on the API RP 580 Risk-Based Inspection and API Publication 581, Base Resource Document outlines the practical methods and alternatives for implementing a successful RBI programme with minimal hassles. This course explains how to use the RBI framework and methodology to create and implement a risk-based inspection programme that is according to the company’s objectives. The usefulness of this course is predicated on the assumption that only a few critical pieces of equipment in a process plant are responsible for the majority of the risk. As a result, if these few pieces of equipment can be identified, testing and inspection efforts can be concentrated on them rather than on a number of low-risk items.
RBI assists clients in prioritizing equipment for inspection, optimizing inspection methods and frequencies, and developing an effective inspection plan that is proportional to the risk contribution and condition of the equipment. The training focuses on the methods for putting RBI into practice in the oil and gas business. It includes advanced RBI implementation expertise in addition to the knowledge needed to pass the Certification Exam. Candidates must hold at least one of the following certifications: API 510, API 570, or API 653.
